I live in a place that is a hiker’s dream. I can wander up to the ridge above my house and feel as if I am alone in the woods. Marin County has tracts of open space and parks with miles of trails and fire roads to explore.

Often, I hike with my husband or friends, but many times I enjoy the solitude of walking with just my dogs. My mind gets to rest in my surroundings, slow down the chatter, and just be with my quiet footfalls, bird song, or wind in the trees.

During my walks I am inspired by the vistas, myriad shades of green, lovely light on the hills or trees, profusion of wild flowers, shapes in shadows and sunlight, and the joyful feeling of being out in nature. This blog/site is an attempt to help me sift through my experiences and budding creativity. I hope to share some of my vision through my photographs, writings, and paintings.
